SYN-ACK Lair

A blog on computer cloud networking, network engineering, network troubleshooting, and monitoring.

Welcome to the SYN-ACK Lair!

This blog is mainly about the networking and architecture of highly-available, massively-distributed, fault-tolerant applications and systems. As you can imagine, a lot goes on behind the scenes of your favorite applications in order to keep them up and connected to various services. Within the pages hosted here, I hope to teach you some of the ways that large-scale systems are connected and managed day-to-day, and when things go wrong, how these connections can be looked at to get them back online.

In my day job, I mainly specialize in cloud networking and automation for millions of compute instances across 40,000+ servers in dozens of countries around the world. I sling Golang code and network knowledge to make the clusters more performant.

Feel free to check out my tutorials in the Tutorials section of the navigation bar above, and reach out to me on one of the social media platforms linked in Contact. I hope you enjoy your time here, and happy networking!
